During the holiday break from full-time work at the library, I buckled down in the studio to work on a book for an upcoming show. The result is we had something, an artist's book featuring large brush calligraphy; imagery pulled from Google Earth, edited in Photoshop and then inkjet-printed; photos of my own (also inkjet-printed); and burns on each page made with a soldering iron.
Since it's a one-of-a-kind book, before completing the binding I scanned each page in order to be able to make a digital version more broadly available. You can see the full PDF by clicking the image above.
If you'd like to know more about it, let me know in the comments or on Facebook or Instagram, and I'll write a more detailed blog post soon. You can also see photos and short videos of its making on Instagram.
The book itself will be in the show The Elegant Statement at Asheville BookWorks in Asheville, NC, from March 5th-April 15th.
Now that the scans are made, I'll be completing the stab binding this week and will update with more photos soon!
